School Performance

Emily took a few short videos at the elementary school performance, and we wanted to share those with you. Unfortunately, she didn't get a video of the best act of all, Take me out to the ballgame!

We are slowly recovering

After a week back at work, we are still not quite on east coast time. I think the baby is the only one who has somewhat adapted to the time change. Jim took somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 pictures during our travels. He's in the process of editing them down to those he deems acceptable for public viewing. (For the record, I think 95% of them are just fine but his artistic sense is more critical than mine). We'll post the link as soon as we get things set up.

We have some pictures from Jacob's House which we can't post on the web but will email directly to those in the pictures. Also, anything we post that you would like to print for yourself, just let us know and we'll be happy to send the jpg to you directly. We just didn't want to clutter inboxes with lots of large files (especially for those of you using dial up connections).

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Korean Tireds (Ties)!

The Faracas have landed safely and are already fondly recalling the not so distant memories of the magical trip to Korea. Lee has put together a slide show for his class, we'll try to post some of it. Aside from the warmth of the Korean people, we genuinely enjoyed meeting our fellow Ties people. We miss Mrs. Ooms infectious laughter and many jokes.
We'll attempt to post some pictures now.

Mrs Oom on the bus

Emily took this short video of Mrs. Oom on the bus. Too bad we didn't get the better stories--THOSE would have been priceless to capture on film!

Home Again

I'm having a difficult time believing that the trip is over! After planning and waiting for so many months, it doesn't seem possible that it's behind us. I hope everyone is recovering nicely from the flight(s) and the dramatic time changes. I'm sure we're all looking forward to seeing pictures, links to pictures, and hearing from everyone their reflections on this fabulous experience!

Less than a week to go...

It's finally here. After a long year of planning, we're just a few days away from take-off to Korea. We're very excited and beginning to pack; keeping our bags below the allowable weight will be a challenge as we put in the miscellaneous gifts and toilet articles. Anyone else having difficulty with that? The weather looks fabulous in both Seoul and Busan, I hope that continues. We leave Boston around 9:00 Saturday for JFK; we'll be looking for some other families sporting "Korean Ties" nametags Saturday afternoon. We'd love to hear from you as we count down the days; any good packing tips would be welcome!

Less than two months to go

I can't believe we've got less than two months until the Ties Trip. Has anyone started doing any "gift" shopping? I've picked up a couple of things, but haven't really focused on this. I am hoping to see some posts on the blog with ideas for what to bring. We still have not been billed for the tickets--has anyone else?

I hope you'll all respond and tell us about your families before the trip is upon us!
